Delays and Manure Smells!

We are doing pretty good...but we are having interesting developments...We got to Nanjing today only to be told that we wouldn't get Grace until tomorrow. I was sure the guide had her information wrong...but apparently there is little we can do about it. I hope that tomorrow really is the day...

On a different note...our bags came off of the plane smelling like manure...I wondered if they were transporting livestock and our bags got loaded wrong...but it was kind of a small plane and I doubt they could have gotten a cow on...People were looking at us and squinching their noses as we rolled by! So we dumped them out when we got to our room and our guide took us to the dry cleaners to clean the suitcases. The man said he had never cleaned a suitcase before but he smelled them and agreed to give it a try. Later on we walked by his shop and the cases were sitting outside on the street! I think they were drying...we'll see. I love China. It is zany and colorful..you get to eat noodles for breakfast and best of all...my girls are from here.

I love saying "My girls."

I think we will be getting Grace during the Superbowl tomorrow! Think of us as the Cardinals kill the Steelers! Go Cards!

Beijing...and holding...

We had a two hour delay in San Francisco so we missed our connecting flight in Beijing...Bummer. We are spending the night in a hotel here in Beijing and will head back to the airport tomorrow at 5am to fly to Nanjing...and hopefully get Grace soon after!

The flight over from San Franciso went really well. Ellie slept for most of the way. She has been a real trooper so far. I didn't have to use my whole bag of tricks to keep her happy!

I'm listening to fireworks right now...they have been going since we landed. We could see them from the air...how about that for a nice welcome!

I'll post more tomorrow! Night Night

We're On Our Way!

The time has come...finally! We are heading to China tomorrow morning! We will be traveling for nearly 20 hours...A long trip but it will be worth it when we get to Nanjing and get Grace. I promise to keep the updates coming....

...One more thing...GO Cardinals!

Happy New Year

I can't believe how fast time flies during the holidays! That was great this year as it means we are just that much closer to going to China to get Grace! We should be getting our travel approval next week I think...then it is just a matter of weeks!
